Executive Vice President, General Counsel

Cathy Gillman serves as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of North Central Group.  She is responsible for legal counseling, strategic planning, and legal compliance for all facets of the company’s business, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, financing and equity arrangements, entity structuring and governance, risk management, and operations.  She works closely with the rest of NCG’s executive management team to drive results consistent with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan.

After graduating from law school, Cathy served as a law clerk to Judge John T. Noonan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco.  She then joined Foley & Lardner LLP’s business law department in Madison, Wisconsin, where she advised primarily privately-held clients in general business and commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, business entity and succession planning, and corporate finance.  While employed at Foley & Lardner, Cathy also taught Business Law I at Madison Area Technical College.  Prior to law school, Cathy worked as a CPA at KPMG LLP in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She has been with North Central Group since February 2006.

Cathy is admitted to practice law in Wisconsin and Minnesota, holds an inactive CPA license in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and is a Member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools, and has volunteered in various capacities for other educational and community organizations in the Madison area.

Cathy is married with two adult sons, and likes spending spare time reading and enjoying Wisconsin’s many recreational and cultural opportunities with family and friends, as well as traveling and spending time outdoors.  She is a long-time supporter of the United Way of Dane County and other charitable organizations.
