Safety & Clean Initiatives

We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Given the effects of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures in our hotels today, developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (including the WHO and CDC), to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:


  • Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings on enhanced cleanliness & safety operating protocol and continue to stay up to date on local and state guidelines.
  • Face coverings (masks) are required to be worn in all public areas of the hotel
  • Increased frequency of cleaning public areas (including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant
  • Continue to adjust food and beverage service and amenity closures in accordance with current recommendations from state and local authorities
  • Increased the deployment of hand sanitizers throughout the hotel
  • Social distancing measures in place
  • Enhanced Team Member safety and well-being with personal protective equipment (masks and gloves) and enhanced training and protocols
  • Partitions at front desks to provide an extra level of precaution for our Guests and Team Members
Hilton Hotels

Our Hilton hotels are implementing the Hilton CleanStay with Lysol Protection program. This will introduce a new standard of hotel cleanliness and disinfection to ensure Hilton guests enjoy an even cleaner and safer stay.

The program will include:

  • Hilton CleanStay Room Seal to indicate that guest rooms haven’t been accessed since they were cleaned
  • Extra disinfection of top 10 high touch areas in guest rooms including light switches and door handles
  • Increased cleaning frequency of public areas
  • Guest-accessible disinfecting wipes at entrances and high traffic areas
  • Enhanced cleaning for fitness centers
  • Reduced paper amenities (like notepads and guest directories) in rooms
  • Enhanced cleaning & other changes to buffets, in-room dining and meeting spaces
  • Industry-leading contactless check-in and check-out with Digital Key at more than 4,700 properties globally
  • Evaluation of new technologies like electrostatic sprayers with disinfecting mist and ultraviolet light to sanitize surfaces and objects
  • Enhanced Team Member safety and well-being with personal protective equipment (masks and gloves) and enhanced training and protocols
  • Face Coverings (masks) are required to be worn in all public areas of the hotel

Marriott Hotels

Below are a few of the changes you will see at our Marriott properties. For more information on Marriott’s Commitment to Clean, please visit

    • We are cleaning surfaces with increased frequency, dedicated staff, and recommended cleaning agents
    • All Guests & Team Members are required to wear face coverings (masks) in all public areas of the hotel
    • We have elevated our rigorous protocols to thoroughly clean all surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectants. And we will be placing disinfecting wipes in each room for your use
    • Hand sanitizing stations are being installed at hotel entrances, at our front desks, our elevator banks, and meeting spaces
    • Signage in public spaces will remind our guests to maintain social distancing. We will be adding partitions at check-in to provide an extra level of precaution for our guests and our Team Members
    • We are rolling out enhanced technologies including electrostatic sprayers to sanitize surfaces throughout the hotel. We are also testing ultraviolet light technology for sanitizing guest keys and devices shared by associates
    • At some of our Marriott hotels, your phone can be used to check in, access your room, and order room service
Safe & Clean Meetings & Events

Our NCG hotels have taken additional measures to ensure all meeting and event experiences at our hotels are clean, flexible, safe and socially responsible. Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all of your meeting attendees.

    • Daily associate temperature & wellness checks that are logged by hotel manager
    • Per brand standards, all meeting attendees will be required to wear a face covering at all times; except while eating
    • All meeting room attendees should practice six feet of social distancing while attending events at our facilities
    • Additional hand sanitizer stations are available throughout each of our locations
    • Increased deep cleaning and disinfecting of public areas, focusing on high-contact surfaces such as doorknobs and counter tops
    • Increased frequency of restroom checks, cleaning and sanitizing of all areas
    • Associates are trained on strict handwashing practices
    • Gloves and masks required for all kitchen & service associates
    • Encouraging box meals or individually-wrapped items for all breakfast/lunch/break snack items. All buffet menu offerings will be facilitated as action stations attended by a gloved/masked associate. Additional fees may apply. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines on all food and beverage services and offerings.
    • Water will be served in individual bottles only
    • Pens and paper will no longer be provided in meeting room
    • Meeting attendance sizes will adhere to current local guidelines for indoor gathering sizes that are allowed in each city/state
    • Custom Floor Plans have been established to ensure social distancing between tables, chairs as well as increased aisle sizes
