Marriott Safe & Clean Initiatives

We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Given the effects of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures in our hotels today, developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (including the WHO and CDC), to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:

CURRENT SAFETY & CLEANLINESS MEASURES TODAY:

  • Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings on enhanced cleanliness & safety operating protocol
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant
  • We will continue to adjust food and beverage service and amenity closures in accordance with current recommendations from state and local authorities
  • We have increased the deployment of hand sanitizers throughout the hotels
  • We have social distancing measures in place at our hotels
  • All hotels continue to stay up to date on all local and state guidelines put in place

ADDITIONAL SAFETY & CLEANLINESS MEASURES WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS:

Our Marriott properties are in the process of finalizing the appropriate technologies to further protect associates and guests from COVID-19. Below are a few of the changes you will see at our Marriott properties. We will add information as it becomes finalized and available to our hotels.

Over the next few months, when guests stay in our Marriott hotels, they will notice a number of additions to our cleaning regimen designed to set an even higher standard of cleanliness for the hotels. Specific areas of focus include:

  • Surface Areas:
    • In public spaces, surfaces will be thoroughly treated with hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning will be done with increased frequency
    • In guest rooms, all surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectants. Marriott will also be placing disinfecting wipes in each room for guests’ personal use
  • Guest Contact:
    • Use of signage in the lobbies to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols
    • Removing or re-arranging furniture to allow more space for distancing
    • Partitions at front desks to provide an extra level of precaution for our guests and associates
    • Marriott associates to wear masks and gloves
    • Installing more hand sanitizing stations at the entrances, near the front desk, elevator banks and fitness and meeting spaces
    • In some of our hotels guests can choose to use their phones to check in, access their rooms, make special requests and order room service that will be specially packaged and delivered
right to the door without contact
  • Food Safety:
    • Marriott’s food safety program will include enhanced sanitation guidelines and training videos for all operational associates that includes hygiene and disinfecting practices
    • All food and beverage operations are required to conduct self-inspection using the company’s food safety standards as guidelines, and compliance is validated by independent audits
    • Modification to operational practices for in-room dining and designing new approaches to buffets
