Darryl Lapointe

Darryl Lapointe is the founding president and CEO of Highpointe Hotel Corporation, in Gulf Breeze, Florida. The company‘s early success in hotel management led to its becoming a court-appointed receiver for lending institutions to manage financially troubled hotels throughout the United States.

Under his leadership this full-service management and development company has built a portfolio of 12 hotels. Brands include Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Courtyard by Marriott.

Prior to hotel ownership, Darryl served as Vice-President and shareholder of American Fidelity Life Insurance Company. Darryl gained extensive experience in hospitality and hotel management through a variety of line level management positions within Holiday Inns, Inc.

Darryl has an array of professional achievements and awards to his credit. He has served as Chairman of the Chairman’s Advisory Council of Hilton Hotels Corp; served as inaugural President of PROMAC (HILMAC); served as President of POLA, Inc.; served as President of the International Association of Holiday Inns, Inc. His hotel and industry awards most notably include The Torchbearers Award; the Winegardner Award; the Pinnacle Award of Excellence; the Marriott Gold Hotel Award and the Hampton Outstanding Achievement Award.

Darryl attended Phoenix College in Arizona where he studied architectural design and music. Early in his career, Darryl dropped out of college to become a professional musician, playing saxophone, clarinet, and bass. He recently completed 10 years service as a volunteer musician and soloist with the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church praise and worship band.
