Reflecting on 30 years - 1981 to 2011: Remaining strong for three decades, through some extremely tumultuous times in the industry, times when many other organizations didn't make it, is no small feat. David Lenz, Founder and Chairman, reflects on the company's accomplishments, and says, "Of course, there are many factors that have enabled The North Central Group to continue to move forward and stay competitive. Surrounding ourselves with outstanding team members who build solid relationships with our guests, each other and within the community has certainly been a major contributor to our ongoing strength and stability. We get involved, help each other out, and don't take things for granted."

Celebrating 30 years with 30 barrels of food in 30 days: The North Central Group has always believed in giving back to the communities that have embraced and supported our hotels year after year. With a deep rooted commitment and desire to lend a hand to others, we celebrated our 30th year in business by donating over 3,700 pounds of food and $630 to local Feeding America food banks from our 30 hotels and corporate office during August. The company also donated $3,000 to the local Madison area Feeding America / Second Harvest organization. We look forward to continuing our new partnership with Feeding America and local food banks for years to come!

Team Member Appreciation Day Unveiled: To further commemorate this special occasion, the company unveiled a Proclamation establishing August 28th (the date of incorporation) as Team Member Appreciation day. We recognize that our team members' unique talents, strengths, and experiences foster innovation, build strong guest relationships, and cultivate our ongoing success. This Proclamation expresses the company's sincere gratitude to all team members for their valued contributions and spirit of dedication!
A Photo Finish: Our culmination event was a celebration luncheon held on August 30th at each hotel and the corporate office. A delectable lunch was provided for the staff, and was topped off with a special commemorative cake delivered to each hotel that day. Time Capsule: In order to capture this special moment in time, The North Central Group purchased a time capsule to collect and store items from circa 2011. The time capsule will be sealed, stored and reopened again by the Lenz family upon the company's 50th anniversary in 2031! Items collected for the time capsule include hotel team photos, corporate team photos, Lenz family photo, mementos from each hotel, newspapers of the day, and the company's key business reports, to name a few.
